EUROPE – ECHA Publishes Updated EU Guidance on Transitioning from PFAS Firefighting Foams to Fluorine-Free Alternatives
The European Chemicals Agency has published updated EU guidance to support the transition from PFAS-containing firefighting foams to fluorine-free alternatives. Developed to help organisations manage this important shift, the guidance provides best practice recommendations, technical and regulatory information, and practical solutions to ensure continued high standards of fire safety while strengthening environmental protection. It also aligns with regulatory requirements under EU REACH and the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) regulations.
