INDIA – Blast at Maharashtra chemical plant leaves one dead, four injured
A chemical factory explosion in Maharashtra’s Palghar district killed one worker and injured four others on Thursday evening, officials said.
The blast occurred roughly 120 kilometers north of Mumbai during a reaction involving metal and acid. Disaster management officer Vivekanand Kadam explained that the highly reactive process triggered the explosion.
According to Kadam, one worker died instantly, while two others suffered serious burn injuries. Two additional employees, positioned farther away from the reaction site, received minor injuries.
The wounded were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. Police have filed a case and launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.
