I have extracted the lessons learned and conclusion from the main report for you (full report available for download). One area of much debate is the levels of PPE which fire-fighters are afforded - some argue that 'over protection' leads to exposure to increased risk. Also mentioned is the physical condition of our fire-fighters - are they 'fire-fighter fit' ? do we do enough to help their physical fitness to conduct their role - are they more likely to suffer stress and potentially cardio problems?, maybe these are points we would like to debate in a couple of weeks at Hull?
