Subject: RE: 'hot work' Date of Email reporting Incident: Mon 14/07/2003 12:32 Report Detail: Hot work in Process units still presents problems at SAPREF. We have a history of tarpaulin fire due to incorrect construction of welding cocoons or failure to adhere to workp ermits conditions (Running water on hand / safety watch in place / high standard of housekeeping etc). I started a re-view process to see what can be learned from recorded tarpaulin fire incidents and what needs to be done to eliminate this thread. However, do not want tor e-invent the wheel – so can you advice what is best practice with hot work in process units in some of the European Refineries or indeed anywhere else across the globe..
