Subject: Turkish Naphtha Tank Fire
Date of Email: Sat 31/07/2004
Report Detail:

A Naptha tank fire apparently brought under control by rapid intervention in Southern Turkey. Angus Fire was contacted and on standby with foam stocks Angus Fire chartered an A300 Airbus, filled with 42 tonnes of FP70 foam should the foam be required. This re-inforces yet again that the Angus Fire Emergency Foam Service spans the world to support the Oil and Petrochemical industry in its time of greatest need.

It said the fire was brought under control through rapid intervention:
"The naphtha left inside the tank will be allowed to burn out in a controlled manner while cooling-off work continues," the statement said.
