Report Detail:

For a number of months Shell Stanlow have been working with Cheshire Fire Service and the HSE to establish guidelines for the Fire and Rescue Services to take responsibility for special premises. This is a result of the changes defined in the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2006. As you are aware in 2006 the responsibility for fire safety was transferred from the HSE to Fire and Rescue Authority control for general fire safety within special premises. Cheshire fire Service have produce these guidelines on behalf of CFOA and acknowledgement for this work must go Ian Kay of Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service .

Shell Stanlow has facilitated meetings with the HSE and Cheshire fire service and used Stanlow as a model to test understanding. This guideline document will answer a number of questions we all have regarding the role of the Fire Authority in Special premises.
