Date of Email reporting Incident:    Wed 19/09/2007

Report Detail:

Please see the two attached guidance documents GV262 (page42) and EC561/2006 (Article 3, c, d).
New Exemptions - Section 22 of the Drivers Hours Document Attached
(c) Vehicles owned or hired without a driver by the armed services, civil defence services, fire services, and forces responsible for maintaining public order when the carriage is undertaken as a consequence of the tasks assigned to these services and is under their control;
This was clarified as being Public Fire Brigades only.
(d) Vehicles, including vehicles used in the non-commercial transport of humanitarian aid, used in emergencies orrescue operations;

This was clarified as when a vehicle was attending an incident i.e. under blue lights only.
As per usual VOSA would not give any of this in writing they just stated that they would advise the above in Court if asked to do so. I would advise you need to seek further clarification on this to ensure that you comply with the new regulations.
