The youtube link embedded here is from the TV program “Mythbusters”. The link is self-explanatory on just what can happen when a compressed gas cylinder has the valve sheared off. I recently read a safety bulletin that explained something similar where the cylinder fell valve first, the valve sheared off and the cylinder launched in the air and travelled a distance of 1/8th of a mile.
