MIAMI -- Authorities continue to work to clean up the scene of a fuel spill at Miami International Airport. Hazmat officials and Miami-Dade Fire Department officials responded to the Commercial Jet Maintenance Facility along 36th Street and LeJeune Road at Miami International Airport, Wednesday afternoon.  Four men were working on a Mexicana aircraft before it experienced a large fuel spill inside the hanger on the Northeast corner of the airport.  The men, who found themselves soaked with fuel, were transported to Hialeah Hospital and Cedar Sinai Hospital.

Those area hospitals are set up to handle hazmat situations when fuel comes in contact with humans.  According to the Miami-Dade Fire Department, the jet leaked 2,200 gallons of fuel.  Crews had to dump kitty litter around the base of one of the fuel compartments of the aircraft.

Crews continue the clean up a day later.
