At least four workers were killed when a fire erupted at an oil refinery in the port city of Suez on Wednesday, officials said. Another 6 workers were injured in the fire that broke out inside a lubricants unit of the state-run company located around 140 kilometres east of Cairo.

The director of the oil refinery says four of his Egyptian workers died as they tried to put out a huge fire that erupted at the plant’s complex in the port city of Suez.  Reda Abdel-Samad says the floor on which the men were standing collapsed as the fire raged in the lubricating oil section at the refinery.  Abdel-Samad says the fire raged for at least two hours before firefighters managed to put it out.
