Fire was reported early on Friday at upgrader Petroanzoátegui, José Antonio Anzoátegui Refining Complex, located in Anzoátegui, northeast Venezuela. According to information disclosed by the chief of the Upgrading Division, Cruz Simoza, the event took place at a coke plant, specifically in the water pit. It is still unknown what brought about the fire. State-owned oil company PDVSA informed the situation is under control. No injuries or damages were reported.
