Three people who sustained burn injuries as an oil tanker caught fire at Mongla port in the district early on Saturday succumbed to the injuries on the way to Dhaka.  Two of the deceased were identified as Moslem Uddin and Babul Mian. They succumbed to the injuries on Saturday night, said Mahbub Uddin, owner of the oil tanker.  The engine room of the oil tanker ‘MV Zakah’ caught fire at Mongla port in the district early on Saturday.  After five hours of frantic efforts, the fire was tamed, Altaf Hossain, member operation of Mangla Port, said adding that the tanker escaped from deadly accident as there was no oil in the tanker during the fire.  The oil tanker came to the port from Daulatpur on Friday afternoon for filling oil on Saturday, said Jaynal Abedin of the tanker.
