Dear JOIFF member – please assist with your knowledge of systems/technical solutions available for calling out emergency responders – copy to [email protected] We have a setup in our organization where we have backup fire teams from maintenance to assist the fire brigade in the event of an emergency. We realized on two occasions that the main siren we activate are not audible in all places (mainly inside certain buildings due to location) or they may be offsite. They are also on standby at night, so to go through the list to call them is time consuming. A couple of years ago there used to be pagers whereby they were notified, but from my understanding pagers are no more, and as they cannot take mobiles into site, it’s not a guaranteed solution. Can I please request from JOIFF members what they are doing in terms of this?
