USA – Chemical Spill at Michigan EV Battery Plant Leaves 15 Injured
A chemical spill at LG Energy Solution’s battery plant in Holland, Michigan, left 15 workers injured on September 6. The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. and prompted an immediate response from emergency services.
Fire crews from Holland and Graafschap, along with the Holland Police Department, Ottawa County Central Dispatch, and American Medical Response, secured the scene and provided assistance. All injured employees were treated at the site before being transferred to a local hospital. Authorities confirmed that none of the injuries were life-threatening and that the spill remained contained within the facility.
Hazardous materials teams oversaw the cleanup in cooperation with LG Energy Solution. The company later identified the incident as a “solvent spill” and said it acted quickly out of caution. It reported that the affected employees were recovering and that no environmental harm had been detected.
