INDIA – Blaze at ONGC’s Mumbai High Platform Injures 10 Workers
Ten workers sustained minor injuries after a fire broke out on ONGC’s SHP platform in the Mumbai High offshore field on Friday evening. The incident was reported around 5:45 pm, prompting an immediate emergency response.
According to the company, fire teams quickly reached the spot and managed to contain the blaze soon after it was detected. ONGC confirmed that all injured personnel are stable and receiving medical treatment. Normal operations at the platform have already been restored.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established, and an investigation is expected to determine what triggered the incident.
In an official communication, ONGC stated that its emergency protocols were activated as soon as the fire was noticed. The swift action helped prevent further damage to the installation and ensured the safety of other workers on the platform.
The company assured that further updates will be issued once more information is available.
